How to Make Business Cards for Your Ad Agency

In these tough economic times, it is best to be practical about what you spend to promote  your ad agency. A good example of a low-cost promotional material is the common business card. They may be small in size, but they can serve several functions for your business, including promotion of your services and reinforcement of your brand identity. Overspending is not necessary, since you can print business cards on a shoestring.

Steps for Creating your Own Business Cards without Breaking the Bank

• Provide essential information. Give your clients multiple ways to reach you by providing your cell phone number, landline number, fax number, email address, website, and mailing address. Making yourself look “available” to your clients gives an impression of reliability. Printing your ad agency’s location map at the back of your business cards makes it convenient for customers to find your office.

• Use high-impact text and images. Draw the potential client’s attention to your business cards by designing them with high-impact text and images. Use images with a minimum of 300 DPI or higher resolution, to make sure that your design will come out great. Ensuring the quality of your images saves you from inconvenience of having to reprint because of blurry images. Save money and time by using high-quality images and text.

• Check out other people’s designs online. There are websites that feature unique business card designs that will inspire you to create your own. Designing your own personalized business cards is more practical than hiring a graphic designer (and cheaper).

Why Have Personal Business Cards?

Being a part of a huge business world is indeed a great challenge. Standing out, making a name, and being remembered is not an easy task. So to make this happen, you have to be smart in playing the game called business.
Imagine this scenario: say you are a freelance web designer.

One night, you went to a friend’s party. While standing and holding your drink, you saw this person beside you and eventually started a conversation with him. Now, you learned that this guy is an owner of a start-up medium-size company, and he is actually looking for a web designer to do their company site. And later, he learned that about your profession. So, he asked for your

contact information. What would you do?

A. Tear a scratch paper, write your name and contact number, and give it to

him.

B. Dictate your mobile number, and tell him to save your number on his phone;

and ask him to do vice versa.

C. Ask him for his personal info, write in on a paper or on your palm, and

tell him that you’ll contact him.

D. You give him your business card, which includes all the basic contact information he needs.

Obviously, the most professional choice is option D. However, what if you get into a situation similar to the example and you don’t have a business card As the say “desperate times, call for desperate measures”, so you’d probably do A, B, C or think of other options. On the other hand, you might think that you’d probably not get into a situation like that. Of course, you can never tell.
